Application Procedure: Parent-Child Program

When to Apply

Applications for admissions are accepted after Labor Day for the following academic year and may be obtained from the Lower School Admissions Office or downloaded here. The child must be age 2 by June 30 in order to be eligible.

How to Apply

Submit the following materials

  • An application
  • A parent statement
  • An application fee of $40
  • A photograph is optional

School Visits/Interviews

Once the admissions packet is complete, the Lower School will contact you to schedule a tour and a family interview.

Children and their parents are interviewed together during a visit with the Director of Admissions after January 1. Due to the limited number of interview times, the Lower School Admissions Office may not be able to interview children applying to the Parent-Child Program after December 1. However, inquiries regarding space are welcome at any time of the year since unanticipated openings may occur.

Open Houses

An Open House for prospective Paent-Child Program applicants will be held on Octber 27, 2010 at 7pm.

Please call the Lower School Admissions Office at 212-327-1457 for further information about Open Houses or introductory lectures on Waldorf education.

Notification and Reply Dates 2010-2011

Notification for admissions to the Parent-Child Program will be mailed on Wednesday, February 16. Parents are asked to reply by Thursday, March 10.

Please note: admission to the Parent-Child Program does not guarantee admission to our Early Childhood Program the following year. A separate application is required.

Once you have accepted an offer, please immediately notify by phone all the schools to which you have applied. This courtesy is helpful to families on a waiting list.

  • Transcripts from previous schools (if any). Transcript request forms can be downloaded here.
  • An application fee of $55
  • A photograph is optional.
  • Standardized testing in not required for the Early Childhood Program, but if your child does take the ERB Test please have the results sent to us.

Our Fall Open Houses will he held on Tuesday September 29, 2010 and Monday November 1, 2010. Doors open at 7pm nand our program will be begin promptly at 7:30pm.
