Music Performance Sound Clips
At Steiner, every student is a musician. Music
and the arts are an essential part of Waldorf education. At Steiner
music is taught with a
distinct purpose--to develop and nurture the natural musical instinct
that resides in each student. With this in mind, we require all
of our
students to participate in our high school chorus. The entire school
joins together one of two times weekly to sing a wide variety of
music from different cultures and perform at school assemblies and
concerts. Through this experience, students learn to experience
diversity through
music and also learn to read music and use their voices in a healthy
manner. Students are graded according to their participation in
this process. Students may also elect to play in our Chamber Orchestra,
Jazz Band, or in our African Drumming ensemble. Each fall students
may audition for a musical theatre production. To hear a sampling
