Timothy Hoffman attended Waldorf schools in Europe. After music school, he went to Emerson College in East Sussex, England, finishing his Waldorf training in Dornach, Switzerland.  In 1981 he became a class teacher at Rudolf Steiner School, taking the class of 1993 from first through eighth grade and teaching additional classes as needed.  He also taught the class of 2009, 2017 and he completed his eighth year with the class of 2026.  During his 41 years of teaching career, he has also been a teacher of teachers and have given innumerable workshops to parents.
