BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Board of Trustees operates according to the Rudolf Steiner School by-laws. Membership is drawn from current parents, faculty, alumni, alumni parents and others who reflect the varied composition of our school community and have expertise related to our school’s strategic initiatives. We work in collaboration with the College of Teachers to forward the mission and vision of our school. Trustees serve for no more than two consecutive three-year terms.

COLLEGE OF TEACHERS

The College of Teachers (the College) is a group of faculty and staff that serves as the governing body of the school’s pedagogy. The College carries the spiritual mission of the school and is responsible for the integrity of the curriculum. The members work closely with the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty and staff in the development of new programs, long-range planning, and improvements to school governance. To ensure inclusivity, the weekly College meetings may be attended by staff and faculty upon request.

LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

The Leadership Council is comprised of the School Administrator, the Upper School Coordinator, and the Lower School Coordinator.  It embodies the mission of the school and articulates the mission for all aspects of the school’s programs, with the School Administrator primarily responsible for the operational aspects of the school and the Upper School and Lower School Coordinators primarily responsible for the pedagogy and educational aspects of the school.  In keeping with the school’s mission, the Leadership Council fosters and holds the Waldorf traditions and the relationships and practices that guide the school’s culture.

The members of the Leadership Council are ex officio, non-voting, members of the Board of Trustees, and also members of the College.
