Jacob Gerber

Upper School Life Sciences

Jacob Gerber has a B.A. in Biology, and a M.A. in Consciousness Studies and Transpersonal Psychology. He is also in his third year of the Waldorf High School Teacher Education Program (WHiSTEP) through the Center for Anthroposophy. He has published scientific work in the field of ecoacoustics, and taken up interdisciplinary study of science and spirituality. He was drawn to Waldorf education through his interest in teaching biology from a phenomenological, process-oriented perspective. Jacob comes to Steiner after working at Coastal Waters Chartered Public School, a Waldorf-inspired school, where he taught high school science, math, and humanities, along with outdoor adventure. His current interests include bird feather evolution and cerebral lateralization.
